EARTH DAY IS SUNDAY APRIL 22, 2007.
We have created a FACT SHEET for you to print out & post on your refrigerator door as a helpful reminder of ways you can EASILY conserve water, energy & natural resources.
Do you live in Los Angeles and are wondering what you can actually recycle without going to "green jail" ?
If you do just ONE THING this year to help your environment — replace your incandescent light bulbs with Energy Star qualified Compact Fluorescent Light bulbs (CFL).
If every household in the U.S. replaced one light bulb with a CFL, it would prevent enough pollution to equal removing 800,000 cars from the road. (Source: US Energy Star).

If you’re feeling EXTRA GREEN this Earth Day, use a reusable cloth shopping bag. It doesn’t matter - "paper or plastic" - they both suck! Think ahead & bring your own bag to the store.
(We’re in the process of creating our own Free Trade canvas shopping bags that can not only hold your groceries, but also can give you that smug sense of satisfaction that you’re doing the right thing …stay tuned to Project Gaian for details if you’re interested in a reusable shopping bag).
Want more? Click here to see what else you can do to live "lighter" on planet earth.
Happy Earth Day! Go Hug a Tree (but check for poison ivy first)…

Have you ever scratched your head (or shouted obscenities) at a person driving like a maniac, speeding up to stop at a red light? Then, once the red light turns green, the driver’s lead foot hits the floor, sending the car barreling forth like a bat outta hell? UGH! This kind of driving wastes gas - - - not to mention wears & tears the car into a premature death.
There’s a grassroots campaign started by Fulton Hanson of Minnesota - - - he has mobilized people to stick cool green & white magnets on their cars to help INSPIRE large groups of people to drive "EASY" for many reasons such as:
(1) to reduce pollution
(2) to save GAS
(3) Increase automobile safety (less accidents) HUMAN AND ANIMALS
(5) to increase the life of your vehicle
(7) to understand YOUR responsiblity towards carbon footprint
(9) to cut our dependence on foreign oil.
If you want to JOIN in the "Drive Easy, Conserve" campaign, click here to get your car magnet & more info about Mr. Hanson’s organization >

While you embark on your holiday shopping - think about this: Americans throw away an additional 5 million tons of trash - 25% more than usual - between Thanksgiving and New Year’s Eve. That extra helping of consumer goods, packaging, food waste, and Christmas trees takes a real toll on the environment.
Click here for some tips to reduce what you consume, give and throw away throughout the holiday season >
